The 283rd Combat Communications Squadron (CBCS) is a unit of the Georgia Air National Guard, stationed at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, Georgia. Established in 1952, the squadron has provided vital tactical communications and information systems support for U.S. Air Force operations worldwide. The 283rd CBCS has deployed personnel and equipment in support of numerous contingencies, humanitarian missions, and joint exercises, including Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Its members specialize in rapid deployment and setup of communications networks, ensuring command and control capabilities in austere environments.
