The 20th Organizational Maintenance Squadron (OMS) was a key support unit stationed at RAF Upper Heyford, United Kingdom, during the Cold War. As part of the 20th Tactical Fighter Wing, the squadron was responsible for the maintenance and readiness of the wing’s combat aircraft, including the F-111 Aardvark. The 20th OMS played a critical role in ensuring rapid deployment and operational effectiveness of USAFE (United States Air Forces in Europe) assets in support of NATO defense strategies.
