The 18th Civil Engineer Squadron (18th CES) is a key support unit assigned to the 18th Wing at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. With a lineage tracing back to World War II-era engineer units, the 18th CES has played a crucial role in maintaining base infrastructure, supporting combat readiness, and ensuring rapid airfield repair capabilities throughout the Pacific region. The squadron has provided vital engineering, emergency management, and disaster response services during numerous contingencies, humanitarian missions, and natural disasters. Today, the 18th CES continues to uphold its legacy by delivering essential engineering support to enable the 18th Wing’s mission in the Indo-Pacific theater.
