The 159th Fighter Wing (159FW) is a unit of the Louisiana Air National Guard, stationed at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans, Louisiana. Established in 1958, the wing has served in various roles, transitioning from air defense to tactical fighter missions over the decades. The 159FW has operated multiple aircraft, including the F-86 Sabre, F-102 Delta Dagger, and currently the F-15C Eagle. The unit has participated in numerous homeland defense missions, overseas deployments, and humanitarian operations, contributing significantly to both state and national security.
