First duty station after A school was Aircraft Maintenance Rota, Spain, where I married Janita from Rota. We came back to the States on the first 747 to cross the Atlantic, to McGuire AFB, where my father came to meet us. My wife Juana stayed with my parents till I was discharged, but I made E-5 and extended for six months so I could get my E-5, Was stationed at Norfolk, VA in VS-27 for the last two years and became the Engine shop P.O. on the night shift. Made cruises on the USS Randolf till itt was decommissioned in 1969, then flew with one of our planes as mechanic so our pilots could make the required carrier landings.
