I joined the Coast Guard on a delayed enlistment, with guaranteed ET school, right after my 18th birthday. I went to Basic Training on Government Island right after I graduated from high school in June, 1974. I started ET A School in October, 1974. I graduated from ET A School and started ET Radar C School in June of 1975. I graduated from ET C Radar School and reported for duty on the USCGC RUSH in August 1975. I transfered to Station Yaquina Bay in July 1977. I was released from active duty and reported to work for the FAA, as an Electronics Technician, in June of 1978. I was forced on to a disability retirement from the FAA in 2016.
