I was in the Marine Corps 1987-1991 2531 Field Radio Operator/0861 Forward Observer. HQ 1/11 Comm. Camp Pendleton '88-'89 BLT 1/9 USS. Tarawa, Artillery Liaison Team / '90-'91 BLT 1/4 USS. Okinawa, Navel Gunfire Team. Desert Shield- Desert Storm. Gulf War Veteran. I was out of the service for a generation, exactly 18 years! It is still the longest break of service ever. I became a poster boy for the Army. I served from '09-'14 when I was medically retired. I did serve in the Iraq War '09-'10 as an 88H Cargo Specialist 611th (SOC) Sea Operation Command. Iraq, Camp Speicher. I redeployed back to Fort Eustis to join my unit in time to case its colors. When I became the 7th Battalion Liaison to the Career Counselors. After 4 years, I reclassed to become a 91F Small Arms / Artillery Repairman. Stationed at Fort Knox for 2 years, where I was responsible for 19th Engineers Battalion. During May 2013 until May 2014, I became responsible for all of the weapons on the base. It just so happened that I was the only 91F on Fort Knox not deployed. During that last year, I was selected to be the Rear-Detachment Platoon Sergeant.
