Enlisted April 29/66; 4 weeks basic at Lackland; placed in the Air Police career field & assigned to 2851 HQ / Air Police Squadron at Kelly AFB, San Antonio TX for OJT, Air Police changed to Security Police Nov/66. Promoted to Buck Sergeant April/68 immediately got orders to Tan Son Nhut - Saigon Vietnam 377th Security Police Squadron served at TSN May through July/68 while assigned to security Mobil patrol & filled in all sectors in all positions (as needed) as well as Law Enforcement; TDY 619th Technical Detachment 1(377 SPS) at Phu Quoc Island. Vietnam at Swissboy Forward Air Control a radar station outside the village of Doung Dong Aug/68 through Dec/68; back to Tan Son Nhut, assigned to the Lookout Towers for incoming rockets, departed May/69, assigned to Fairchild AFB, SAC, 92nd SPS, released active duty Feb/70.
