I served onboard the US Coast Guard Cutter WHEC717 from December 7th 1991 to September 1992. I was 22 years old when I left Adak Alaska after 35 days on Deck Force as a Seaman Apprentice E-1 My first deployment was shortly after December 7th 1991 Oahu and then on to American Samoa for 90 days. Starting from Seattle Washington. I started out as an Engineer but midway to American Samoa I requested to get on Deck Force and it was a Great to Serve America. I was injured in Adak but received an Honorable Discharge with Unsuitability for continuing service.
