I love this Country and served 22 years in the Armed Forces - in both the
Navy and Air Force. I was called up for Iraq twice and each time
just before deployment - they were canceled. I would have willingly
gone not knowing the outcome as so many have before me. I too have a Wife and
Children and knew that sacrifice that might be asked of me. As so many have said,
FREEDOM IS NOT FREE. I am so proud of the Service Men & Women that serve our Nation -
they must never be forgotten by its People. I will support the armed service every
chance I get until I take my last breath in this Great Nation -
THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. We stand for Freedom and equality for all Men & Women.
I am so proud to be a Citizen of the United States. I urge all People of this
Nation to make donations to the Armed Forces and especially those that gave so much
once they return Home.

Just want to say thanks to all veterans who served in war or conflict or
just served in any service for their country. Thanks Army, Navy, Air force, Marines, Coast Guard,
reserves, and all that apply. Thanks for protecting our country!

When I think of Memorial Day I think of my Dad Lorenzo Hudson(WWII, U.S Army).
When I sit back and listen to my Dad's War stories I think to myself
I'm so Proud of my Dad who had the Courage to fight for our Country, he is my HERO
always and forever. Also, to the other Men and Women who fought for our Country
this is a Day of Remembrance for All of You. YOU ALL ARE HEROES!

Whenever I smell the fragrance of lilacs, I think of Memorial Day.
It was called Decoration Day when I was in the third grade and we laid lilacs on the
graves of veterans. Today, I squeeze into my outdated uniform and march with any
veteran's group participating in local parades. God Bless those who are willing
to Lay down their life for their fellow man.

Wow, where do I start? Let's see, I'm a Marine Vietnam Veteran (BLT 1/3)1967-1968,
now a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. I currently serve
on the 6th district memorial team. This Memorial Day that we celebrate so
casually means much more to me because you don't see the 2,000 a day that are now
passing away. With the Memorial team I have been able to ease the pain in my heart
of my fellow brothers and sisters that paid the ultimate sacrifice for this country of ours. I
celebrate Memorial Day each time I perform a Memorial Service for a departed comrade.
Let us not take this day so matter-a-factly, our troops are still giving their lives
for this country and us.

I spent many Memorial Days with my Uncle George who is also a veteran,
each of us with tears running down our faces as they played taps.
Each of us knowing how much we love America and proud that we were part of the
forces that kept America free. I remind every American to ensure that all of
our deceased Veterans be honored with a flag on their grave in remembrance of what
they did for all of us. God Bless the USA and military troops of today and those who
served in the past. We live free because of them.

I remember my comrades of the 926 Signal Bn who gave their all in the same room
with me during the Battle of the Bulge Dec 28. I list them on my web site under

Memorial Day for me is a time to honor the veterans that died in my place in Vietnam.
It is a time to thank and pray for the men and women that are fighting now for our
freedom. With all the years that have passed I thank god for the men and women that

Memorial Day is the day we chose to honor our comrades that have died in
service for our country. As we, the baby boomers, get older, we see so
many from WWII, our Mothers and Fathers, pass on. It makes me proud that
both my parents and most of my Uncles served, as did one of my Aunts, during
WWII and the Cold War. Though I have not been at war away from the U.S., I feel closer
to those I loved and looked up to, for serving in the Armed Forces.

My Dad wrote this poem to his twin sister while stationed in
Germany where he was wounded Sept 17, 1944.
I would like to share it with you all.
A girl who's here, in this free
land of ours,
Does wonder much about her
Brother's hours,
Who is in war so many miles
away
That she does kneel and for him
she does pray.
This is a fact, that sisters of
those there,
Who fight for them and freedom
everywhere,
Might justify the reason men are
born
To keep the world from being all
forlorn.
So Sister's love of Brother's
loyal deeds,
Of fighting hard, is proof that
he does need,
His Sister's love, and every
other soul
To help stave off a Communistic
goal.
So God keep 'live the right above
the wrong,
That good shall win, with all
free men more strong,
That Sisters too, as well as

When I think of Memorial Day it reminds me of the high price we have all paid for
our freedom. The brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice and
have given us so much to be thankful for

Memorial Day is a day to honor all the Men and Women of the Armed Forces,
that served this great nation to keep this Country free. All the fallen
comrades and those who still serve this Nation need to be commended not
only on Memorial Day but every day of the year. Remember this, the Flag of
this Nation flies high and it will stay that way because of the men and women

Memorial day to me is a day of remembrance and a day that at least is
dedicated to the veterans of all wars, men and women of all branches,
from a pvt to a five star general at any MOS who some devoted their entire life,
some a few years to be in the armed forces and become part of the defense of our
nation and people. God bless us all and the ones that are not here physically

I think of Memorial Day, when our brothers and sisters had
realized what it means to defend our constitution when they all get
together, to fight for each other, as well as our families here and abroad,
to establish one nation under God, as God our King, as we all fight for the right of
existence, in the name of Love, as we all sacrifice so that many can freely live
in the pursuit of happiness, knowing we are free, to choose that path to happiness.

My ancestors have served in every war in America starting with the Revolutionary War.
My ggggg grandfather served with and was a friend of Geo Washington.
Five of my father's brothers served in WWII. I served in Korea and lost a brother there.
Memorial day to me is LOVE of Country and willing to fight for the same.
We should all pay our respects and gratitude to all of those who have served.
Without those veterans where would America be.

This memorial day, I dedicate to all the soldiers that I served in
Desert Storm with. 23rd engineers, 5/5 cav.3rd. armored div., the soldiers I crossed
the sava with, 40th engineers, 1st infantry. And especially to my friend in ft. hood,
who was injured by a road side bomb while on foot patrol in Iraq,
during that time, his wife was going through brain surgery for a tumor
that left her blind and unable to take care of her self and her family,
thank you for your sacrifices my friend. I will never let them forget.

Memorial Day, first and foremost to me,
is an opportunity to remember those who gave the
ultimate sacrifice in defense and/or support of our country and its values.
I only gather with friends and family in an attempt to further the awareness of
why we celebrate and mourn on the last Monday in May. We only have the privilege
to freely celebrate this and other holidays in this country because of the Honor,
Courage and Commitment of our brothers and sisters who gave their lives. Please
remember them, support our troops, and pray for those who place themselves in
harms way everyday in order to keep us free. God Bless the USA!!!
