The 19th Infantry Regiment, known as the "Rock of Chickamauga," was constituted in 1861 and has a distinguished history of service in the United States Army. The regiment later served in the Philippine–American War, World War II—where it participated in campaigns in the Pacific Theater—and the Korean War.
