The 79th Engineer Group (Headquarters) was a prominent U.S. Army engineer unit during the Vietnam War. Activated in Vietnam in 1966, the group provided vital command and control over multiple engineer battalions and companies. Its primary mission involved constructing and maintaining critical infrastructure such as airfields, roads, bridges, and base camps throughout South Vietnam.
