The 1st Battalion, 187th Field Artillery (1/187th FA) is a unit of the United States Army National Guard with roots dating back to World War I. Originally constituted in 1917, the unit has served in various capacities, providing artillery support in both domestic and overseas operations. During World War II, the 1/187th FA was mobilized and contributed to campaigns in the European Theater. In recent decades, the battalion has participated in training exercises, state emergency responses, and deployments in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
