Fort Dix, established in 1917 in New Jersey, was originally created as Camp Dix to train soldiers for World War I. In 2009, Fort Dix merged with McGuire Air Force Base and Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst to form Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, continuing its legacy as a vital center for military readiness and support.
