Headquarters 17th Air Force, located at Sembach Air Base, Germany, was activated in 1953 to serve as the principal United States Air Force (USAF) command for air operations in West and Central Africa, as well as parts of Europe. The **602nd Tactical Air Intelligence, Reconnaissance, and Counter Warfare Group (602nd TAIRCW)** is a specialized unit of the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF).
