The 4th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment ("4/20th Infantry") is a unit with distinguished service in the United States Army. Originally constituted in 1861 as part of the 11th Infantry, the regiment was reorganized as the 20th Infantry in 1866 and has since participated in numerous major conflicts, including the Indian Wars, Spanish-American War, World War II, and the Vietnam War. The 4th Battalion was activated and inactivated several times throughout its history, notably serving with the 11th Infantry Brigade during the Vietnam War, where it engaged in extensive combat operations.
