The Strategic Air Command (SAC) was a major command of the United States Air Force that existed from 1946 to 1992. Its primary mission was to provide strategic nuclear deterrence and global strike capabilities during the Cold War. SAC operated a large fleet of bombers, intercontinental ballistic missiles, and reconnaissance aircraft to fulfill its mission. The command played a key role in maintaining the balance of power between the United States and the Soviet Union during the Cold War.

The 51st Tactical Fighter Wing (51 TFW) was originally activated as the 51st Fighter Wing in 1948, serving in the Far East during the early years of the Cold War. The wing gained distinction during the Korean War, flying F-80 and F-86 aircraft, and becoming one of the top scoring units against enemy MiGs. In the post-Korean War era, the 51 TFW transitioned through various aircraft and missions, maintaining air defense readiness in the Pacific region. Today, redesignated as the 51st Fighter Wing, it is based at Osan Air Base, South Korea, and plays a vital role in the defense of the Korean Peninsula.

9th Reconnaissance Wing

The 9th Reconnaissance Wing, originally established in 1949, is a United States Air Force unit based at Beale Air Force Base, California. It has a distinguished history in aerial reconnaissance, operating high-altitude aircraft such as the U-2 Dragon Lady and previously the SR-71 Blackbird to gather critical intelligence during the Cold War, Vietnam War, and beyond. The wing has played a pivotal role in global intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions, supporting U.S. and allied operations worldwide. Continually adapting to new technologies and mission requirements, the 9th Reconnaissance Wing remains a cornerstone of America's strategic reconnaissance capabilities.

52nd Fighter Wing

The 52nd Fighter Wing is a United States Air Force unit based at Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany. It is equipped with F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft and is tasked with supporting NATO allies and deterring aggression in Europe. The wing is also responsible for providing air support for U.S. and coalition ground forces. Additionally, the 52nd Fighter Wing conducts training exercises and participates in international partnerships to promote stability and security in the region.
