The Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 28th Transportation Battalion (HHD, 28th Trans Bn) was first constituted on 1 May 1936 in the Regular Army as the 28th Quartermaster Regiment. It was reorganized and redesignated several times, ultimately becoming the 28th Transportation Battalion in 1952. The unit has provided critical logistical and transportation support in major conflicts, including World War II, the Korean War, and operations during the Cold War in Europe.
