Battery A, 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division (FORSCOM), has a distinguished history of service dating back to World War I. Activated in 1917, the unit has participated in numerous major conflicts, including World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Operation Desert Storm, and recent operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. As part of the storied 1st Cavalry Division, Battery A has provided critical fire support in both offensive and defensive operations, earning multiple unit citations for valor and excellence.
