The 2005th Army Airways Communications System (AACS) Squadron was a United States Air Force unit activated during World War II. Assigned to the Army Airways Communications System, its mission was to provide vital air-to-ground communications, navigation aids, and weather services to support air operations in the Pacific Theater. The squadron played a key role in establishing and maintaining communication networks across remote and newly captured islands, enabling effective command and control of air missions. After the war, the 2005th AACS continued its service during the early years of the Cold War before being inactivated as part of Air Force organizational changes.

The 3380th Air Base Group (AB GP) was a unit of the United States Air Force that operated primarily at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. Activated in the late 1940s, the group provided essential base support services, including administration, security, logistics, and facility management, to Keesler’s technical training mission. Throughout its history, the 3380th AB GP played a vital role in supporting the training of thousands of Air Force personnel in radar, electronics, and communications specialties during the Cold War era. The unit underwent several reorganizations and redesignations until its eventual inactivation as Air Force base support functions were consolidated under different structures in the 1970s.

The 459th Troop Carrier Wing was established in 1949 as part of the United States Air Force Reserve. Initially based at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland, the wing was responsible for training and conducting airlift operations, utilizing aircraft such as the C-46 Commando and later the C-119 Flying Boxcar. The unit played a significant role during the Korean War, providing critical airlift support for personnel and supplies. Over time, the wing underwent several redesignations and mission changes, eventually becoming the 459th Air Refueling Wing, reflecting its transition to aerial refueling operations with the KC-135 Stratotanker.
