USS Lockwood (FF-1064)

USS Lockwood (FF-1064) was a Knox-class frigate commissioned by the United States Navy in 1971. Named after Vice Admiral Charles A. Lockwood, a prominent submarine commander during World War II, the ship was primarily tasked with anti-submarine warfare and escort duties during the Cold War. Throughout her service, Lockwood participated in numerous exercises and deployments, including operations in the Pacific and Indian Oceans, as well as supporting US interests in the Western Pacific. After more than two decades of service, USS Lockwood was decommissioned in 1992 and subsequently transferred to the Turkish Navy, where she served as TCG Karadeniz (F-255).

The Naval Support Force Antarctica (NSFA) was a United States Navy unit established in 1955 to provide logistical, operational, and construction support for Operation Deep Freeze, the U.S. mission in Antarctica. Headquartered at McMurdo Station, the NSFA managed sea and air logistics, constructed and maintained research facilities, and supported scientific expeditions across the continent. The unit played a crucial role in maintaining year-round access to Antarctica, enabling critical scientific research during the Cold War and beyond. The NSFA was deactivated in 1998, with its duties transferred to civilian agencies under the National Science Foundation.

The NAVAL TRAINING CENTER SAN DIEGO (NTC/RTC SAN DIEGO) is a former military base located in San Diego, California. It served as a training facility for the United States Navy from 1923 until its closure in 1997. The base was responsible for training thousands of Navy recruits throughout its years of operation. Today, the site has been redeveloped into a mixed-use community known as Liberty Station.

In 2011, the school relocated to Newport, Rhode Island, where it continues its mission of training and developing Navy Supply Corps professionals.
