2nd Infantry Division

The 2nd Infantry Division, also known as the "Indianhead Division," was formed in 1917 and first saw combat in World War I, participating in key battles such as Belleau Wood and the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. During World War II, the division landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day+1 and fought across France, Belgium, and into Germany. In the Korean War, the 2nd Infantry Division was one of the first U.S. units to arrive and played a critical role in defensive actions and offensives throughout the conflict. Today, the division remains forward-deployed in South Korea, serving as a key component of the United States’ commitment to the defense of the Korean Peninsula.

The 2d Battalion, 502d Infantry Regiment, is a storied unit of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), known as the "Strike" Battalion. Constituted during World War II, the battalion parachuted into Normandy on D-Day and fought in key campaigns across Europe, including Operation Market Garden and the Battle of the Bulge. In Vietnam, the 2-502d earned a reputation for valor during numerous operations, including the brutal fighting in the A Shau Valley. In recent decades, the battalion has deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, continuing its legacy of excellence in air assault operations and combat leadership.

The 10th Mountain Division is a light infantry division in the United States Army. It was originally formed during World War II as a specialized unit for mountain warfare, with soldiers trained in skiing, mountaineering, and cold weather operations. The division's motto is "Climb to Glory," reflecting its unique skill set and history. Today, the 10th Mountain Division is based at Fort Drum, New York and continues to be trained for combat in harsh, mountainous environments.

The 18th Medical Command (Deployment Support) was activated on 16 August 1984 at Fort Shafter, Hawaii, to provide medical command and control for U.S. Army forces throughout the Pacific region. Its mission included planning, coordinating, and supervising health service support during both peacetime and contingency operations across the vast Pacific theater. The unit played a vital role in numerous joint exercises, humanitarian missions, and disaster relief operations, ensuring medical readiness and support across U.S. Army Pacific units. The 18th Medical Command was inactivated in 2016, with its mission and responsibilities transitioning to the 18th Medical Command (Deployment Support) (Provisional) and subsequently to other medical units within the region.
