Quantico, Virginia, is renowned as the home of Marine Corps Base Quantico, established in 1917. Originally a training camp during World War I, it quickly became a pivotal center for Marine Corps education, innovation, and leadership development. Over the years, Quantico has hosted key institutions such as the Marine Corps University, Officer Candidates School, and the FBI Academy. Headquarters and Service Company (HqSvc Co), Officer Candidates School (OCS), Marine Corps Development and Education Command (MCDEC), Quantico, Virginia, has played a key support role in the training and evaluation of future Marine Corps officers. Established to provide administrative, logistical, and operational assistance, HqSvc Co ensures the smooth functioning of OCS programs. Throughout its history, the unit has facilitated the rigorous screening and preparation of officer candidates, upholding the traditions and standards of the Marine Corps. Stationed at Quantico—known as the “Crossroads of the Marine Corps”—HqSvc Co remains integral to the development of Marine leaders.

The Quantico Security Battalion is a United States Marine Corps unit stationed at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia. Its origins trace back to the need for dedicated security and law enforcement at the base, evolving from earlier military police detachments. The battalion is tasked with providing force protection, law enforcement, and security operations for the base, safeguarding critical assets, personnel, and high-profile events. Over the years, it has played a crucial role in supporting Marine Corps missions, training, and the protection of national leadership facilities located on or near Quantico.
