Airman school,photo school, joined VJ-61 at Miramar '53. Trained in AJs..Det Able to Panama (lost PB4Y),Queens 5&6 to Far East flying every day in 6/7(lost both). Pitched softball at all stations.

My father died in 1962, just found war record, he was in Co. C, wounded by a mine March 4, 1944 near Nuenstein Germany. Is there anyone out there that can tell me more or direct me? Rick

In 1944, during World War II, the U.S. Army engaged in significant actions in and around Germany. While there's no specific mention of the US Army being in Neuenstein, Germany in 1944, the key events of that year involved the first US troops crossing the German border, the Battle of Aachen, and the Battle of Hürtgen Forest. The Battle of the Bulge, a major German offensive, also took place in late 1944.
