USNS Saturn (T-AFS-10) was a Mars-class combat stores ship commissioned in 1961 as USS Saturn (AFS-10) and later transferred to the Military Sealift Command in 1983, redesignated as USNS Saturn. Throughout her service, she provided vital underway replenishment of food, ammunition, and stores to U.S. Navy ships operating at sea, supporting fleet operations during the Cold War, including deployments in the Atlantic, Mediterranean, and Indian Oceans. Saturn played a crucial logistics role during operations such as Desert Storm in 1991, ensuring sustained naval presence and readiness.
