The 6th Battalion, 29th Field Artillery Regiment (6/29th FA) was constituted on July 5, 1918, as part of the National Army and assigned to the 10th Division. Reactivated and redesignated several times throughout the 20th century, the battalion served with distinction, notably during the Vietnam War, where it provided critical artillery support for infantry operations. In the post-Vietnam era, 6/29th FA became part of the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colorado, and later participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom, delivering fire support in combat operations. The unit is recognized for its adaptability and professionalism, upholding the proud traditions of the Field Artillery branch.
