The 5th Battalion, 2nd Artillery (5/2nd ARTY) served under the United States Army Republic of Vietnam (USARV) during the Vietnam War. Activated in Vietnam, the unit provided crucial artillery fire support for American and allied ground forces, participating in operations across various regions including the Mekong Delta and III Corps Tactical Zone. Equipped primarily with self-propelled howitzers, 5/2nd ARTY was instrumental in countering enemy attacks and supporting search-and-destroy missions. The battalion earned recognition for its accuracy, rapid deployment, and sustained firepower throughout its Vietnam service.
