The 276th Engineer Battalion is a unit of the Virginia Army National Guard with a lineage dating back to 1791, originally formed as part of the Richmond City Regiment. Over its long history, the unit has served in multiple conflicts, including the War of 1812, the Civil War, World War I, and World War II. Reorganized as an engineering battalion, the 276th has provided critical support in construction, mobility, and disaster response operations both at home and abroad. Today, the battalion continues its tradition of service, supporting state and federal missions with highly trained engineer soldiers.
