The 2nd Battalion, 6th Field Artillery Regiment (2/6th FA) boasts a distinguished lineage within the United States Army, tracing its origins back to 1907. The unit has seen action in major conflicts, including World War I, where it provided critical artillery support in France, and World War II, participating in campaigns across North Africa and Europe. During the Cold War and into the 21st century, 2/6th FA has served in various roles, including deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Renowned for its adaptability and firepower, the battalion continues to uphold its motto, “Celer et Audax” (Swift and Bold), as a vital component of the Army’s artillery forces.
