1:25th Infantry

• The 1/25th Infantry Regiment was first activated on 1 January 1941 at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. • During World War II, the regiment saw combat in the Pacific theater, participating in the campaigns in Guadalcanal, Leyte, and Luzon. • The 1/25th Infantry Regiment was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation for their actions during the Battle of Guadalcanal. • In 1966, the regiment was deployed to Vietnam where they were involved in numerous combat operations, including the Battle of Soui Cut and the Tet Offensive. • During their time in Vietnam, the 1/25th Infantry Regiment earned two Valorous Unit Awards and a Meritorious Unit Commendation. • After Vietnam, the regiment was stationed in Hawaii and took part in various training exercises and peacekeeping missions throughout the Pacific region. • In 2004, the 1/25th Infantry Regiment was reactivated and assigned to the 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks. • During the Global War on Terrorism, the regiment deployed multiple times to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. • The 1/25th Infantry Regiment conducted security and stability operations in Iraq and counterinsurgency missions in Afghanistan. • Today, the regiment continues to train and prepare for future deployments, uphold their proud lineage, and honor the sacrifices of those who have served before them.
