History of 131 MI

The 131st Military Intelligence (MI) Battalion was constituted on 1 October 1981 in the Regular Army and assigned to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). Activated at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, the unit provided critical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance support during major operations, including Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
