History of 3:325th ABCT

The 3rd Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment (3/325th ABCT) traces its lineage to the activation of the 325th Infantry Regiment in 1917, which served with distinction in World War I and World War II as part of the 82nd Airborne Division. Reactivated and redesignated multiple times throughout the 20th century, the 3/325th participated in key operations during the Cold War, including deployments to Europe as part of NATO’s rapid reaction forces. During Operation Desert Storm and later in the Balkans, the battalion demonstrated its airborne capabilities in both combat and peacekeeping missions. Today, the 3/325th ABCT continues to serve as a critical airborne infantry element, maintaining readiness for global deployment in support of U.S. and allied operations.
