ABOUT 48th Fighter Wing
- Originally activated as the 48th Pursuit Wing in 1940
- The 48th Fighter Wing was the first unit to receive the F-15 Eagle in 1977
- During the Gulf War in 1991, the wing flew over 3,100 combat missions
- The wing's motto is "Can Do, Will Do!"
- In 2018, the wing participated in Arctic Challenge Exercise, a multinational training event
- The wing's aircraft have participated in numerous NATO exercises and deployments
- The wing is based at RAF Lakenheath in the United Kingdom
