History of 8th TFS

The 8th Tactical Fighter Squadron (8th TFS) was an esteemed unit of the United States Air Force, originally activated during World War II.   • Origins in World War II: The 8th Tactical Fighter Squadron (8th TFS) traces its lineage back to the activation of the 8th Pursuit Squadron in 1940, which later fought in the Pacific during World War II as part of the famed "Flying Tigers."
