History of 2ND FSSG

The 2nd Force Service Support Group (2nd FSSG) is a Marine Corps logistics unit that provides combat service support to Marine Air-Ground Task Forces.   • The 2nd Force Service Support Group (2nd FSSG) is a support unit of the United States Marine Corps.
  • It was activated on October 1, 1958, and is headquartered at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

  • In 1990, the 2nd FSSG deployed in support of Operation Desert Shield and later Operation Desert Storm in Kuwait and Iraq.

  • In 2010, the unit was redesignated as the Combat Logistics Regiment 27 (CLR-27) as part of a restructuring of Marine Corps logistics units.
  • CLR-27 continues to provide critical support to Marine units around the world, ensuring they are equipped and ready for any mission.
