History of 3:7 1st Marine Div.

The 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment (3/7), part of the 1st Marine Division, has a distinguished history dating back to its activation in 1941. During World War II, 3/7 participated in major campaigns including Guadalcanal, Peleliu, and Okinawa, earning a reputation for valor and effectiveness. The battalion saw extensive combat in Korea and later in Vietnam, where it took part in numerous operations such as Operation Starlite and Operation Harvest Moon.
