- Red Ball Express: Inspired by the famous WWII Red Ball Express, TrkCo ran high-priority "Red Ball" convoys to deliver critical supplies under tight deadlines during major operations like Tet Offensive.
- Heroic Actions: Members of TrkCo were awarded several commendations for bravery, including Navy Commendation Medals and Purple Hearts, due to their actions during ambushes and mine attacks on convoys.
- Adapted Vehicles: The company’s fleet included not just standard 2.5-ton and 5-ton trucks, but also “gun trucks”—cargo trucks armored with sandbags and steel plating to improve survivability.
- Engineering Support: TrkCo worked closely with Marine engineers to maintain and repair supply routes, including the vital “Liberty Road” between Da Nang and outlying bases.
- Unit Evolution: The original 1st FSR was redesignated as 1st Force Logistics Command (FLC) in March 1970, but TrkCo continued its mission throughout the Vietnam War and into postwar restructuring.
