Navy vet looking to get in contact with anyone who was with the 3rd battalion 6th field artillery regiment during the Vietnam War. My father in law Sgt. Paul R. Cothern was with the 3/6 in Vietnam he recently passed on 24Dec2025 my hope is that someone might be able to share some stories of my father in law and his time in nam for my wife he left home to escape abuse at 16 and joined the Army during vietnam wasn't a very big fella he had to eat bananas just to make weight to enlist. 1 story I do know from vietnam atleast from my brother in law is that Sgt. Cothern punched an officer who was trying to send him on a suicide mission in Vietnam my understanding is he did a little time in Leavenworth for that.
