3rd Marine Division

The 3rd Marine Division is a unit of the United States Marine Corps based at Camp Courtney in Okinawa, Japan. The division is made up of approximately 16,000 Marines and sailors, organized into regiments, battalions, and companies. The 3rd Marine Division has a long and storied history, participating in numerous campaigns and battles throughout its existence.

The 8th Engineer Support Battalion (8th ESB) is a United States Marine Corps engineer battalion based at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Activated on September 1, 1950, the battalion has provided critical combat engineering support in conflicts ranging from the Korean War to Operations Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom. Its missions have included constructing fortifications, breaching obstacles, and supporting mobility and survivability for Marine forces. Throughout its history, 8th ESB has earned a reputation for versatility, innovation, and unwavering support to the Marine Air-Ground Task Force.

Marine Wing Support Squadron 273 (MWSS-273), known as the "Sweathogs," was activated in 1986 at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina. The unit provides aviation ground support to enable the operations of Marine aviation units, including airfield services, fuel, engineering, and logistical support. MWSS-273 has deployed in support of major operations such as Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, earning multiple unit commendations. The squadron continues to play a vital role in supporting Marine Corps aviation both at home and overseas.
