Named in honor of the heroic defense of the Bataan Peninsula during World War II, the ship has played a pivotal role in numerous military and humanitarian operations worldwide. Over its service, USS Bataan has participated in major deployments, including Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and disaster relief efforts such as Hurricane Katrina and the 2010 Haiti earthquake. USS Independence

USS Independence was a light aircraft carrier that served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. It was commissioned in 1943 and played a vital role in numerous naval battles throughout the Pacific. The ship was eventually decommissioned in 1946, but was later reactivated and modernized in the 1950s. USS Independence was finally decommissioned for the last time in 1955 and later scrapped in 1962.

USS **Thomas S. Gates (CG-51)** was a Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser commissioned into the United States Navy on December 22, 1987. Named after Thomas S. Gates, the 7th Secretary of Defense, the ship served as a multi-role warship capable of air defense, surface warfare, and strike operations. Throughout her service, Thomas S. Gates participated in numerous deployments, including operations in the Mediterranean Sea, the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm, and counter-narcotics missions in the Caribbean. After nearly two decades of service, she was decommissioned on December 15, 2005.
USS Caron (DD 970)

USS Caron (DD-970) was a Spruance-class destroyer commissioned into the United States Navy in 1977. Throughout her service, Caron participated in numerous exercises and operations, including deployments to the Mediterranean and Persian Gulf, as well as involvement in Cold War naval confrontations. Notably, in 1986 and 1988, USS Caron was involved in incidents with Soviet forces in the Black Sea while asserting freedom of navigation rights. The ship served until 2001, when she was decommissioned and later sunk as a target during a training exercise in 2002.
