127th Annual ESHCOL MEMORIAL DAY PARADE Saturday May 24, 2014 Services at both Cemeteries starting at 1:15 PM at the new cemetery parade then proceeds to old cemetery. Everyone is welcome to participate in parade and decorating of veterans graves. Guest Speaker is Mr. Donald Dissinger, Retired Teacher Special Music provided by West Perry Senior High & Middle School Marching Band and DJ and the Macs Lunch stand begins serving 11 AM: Kettle soups, hot sandwiches & baked goods Rain or shine. Bring your lawn chairs & spend the afternoon meeting with old friends & make some new ones while honoring our veterans. From Ickesburg: Take Route 74 (Veterans Way) 1.5 miles, turn left on PA 849 East (Buffalo Trace) 1.8 miles arrive at Eshcol old cemetery. To drop off parade participants, continue .5 miles on PA 849 East (Buffalo Trace) arrive at new cemetery. From New Bloomfield: Take Route 274 West (Shermans Valley Rd) 2.3 miles, turn right onto Mannsville road 4.1 miles, turn left onto Middle Ridge Rd. 2.7 miles, turn right PA 849 East (Buffalo Trace) 1.0 mile arrive at Eshcol old cemetery. To drop off parade participants, continue .5 miles on PA 849 East (Buffalo Trace) arrive at new cemetery From Newport: Take Middle Ridge Rd. 10.4 miles, turn right on PA 849 East (Buffalo Trace) 1.0 mile arrive at Eschol old cemetery. To drop off parade participants, continue .5 miles on PA 849 East (Buffalo Trace) arrive at new cemetery From Millerstown: Take Rt. 17 West (Raccoon Valley Rd.) 8.5 miles, turn left on Cherry Valley Rd. 2.4 miles, turn left on Arndt Rd. .6 miles arrive at Eschol old cemetery. Brigadier General Wilbur E. Wolf III, Deputy Commanding General, 28th Infantry Division, Pennsylvania National Guard; Richard Wood Snowden, great great grandson of Colonel A. Loudon Snowden, who delivered the keynote address at the first dedication of the “Silent Sentry” in 1883; and Waldron Kintzing Post II, Commander-in-Chief of MOLLUS. The day will conclude with beer and light luncheon refreshments.
